Rostec says creates Russia’s first large-capacity gas turbine

MOSCOW, Jan 18 (PRIME) -- United Engine Corporation (UEC), a subsidiary of Russian state industrial corporation Rostec, has finished construction of the first national commercial large-capacity gas turbine GTD-110M with a capacity of 115 megawatts (MW), the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

The turbine was developed by power holding company Inter RAO, subsidiary of state nanotechnology company Rusnano – Gas Turbine Technologies, and UEC unit UEC-Saturn in order to substitute imported turbines, whose supplies to Russia were blocked by the Western sanctions. UEC plans to deliver the turbine to the Udarnaya thermal power plant in the Krasnodar Region.

The GTD-110M turbine is to become the staple of the programs for upgrades of thermal power plants.
